One of the issues I hear more and more about, as I meet with our existing partners and potential new clients, is direct-connect fatigue.
With online travel agencies, wholesalers and tour operators looking for access to the most up-to-date and reliable rates, hotel companies are bombarded by requests to develop direct connections to their central reservation systems.
But direct connections can be not only taxing on legacy systems, but also complex and costly to maintain. So hotel companies are often hesitant to develop these with distribution partners other than the largest OTAs.
That’s why we have developed a suite of products that I like to call “direct-to-many.” With one simple connection through the DHISCO Switch, we can connect travel sellers to real-time rates and bookings at more than 100,000 hotels around the world.
This is all part of our vision for connecting the world. And I am proud that travel companies in all corners of the globe are embracing our solutions. Today, for instance, we announced a new partnership with Kuwaiti travel wholesale Easy Travel System.
Easy Travel System has a platform that enables travel agents and tour operators to book significantly discounted rates at more than 95,000 hotels in 190 countries.
With its new connection through the DHISCO Switch, Easy Travel System will be able to stay ahead of its competitors by offering the most up-to-date information on pricing and availability.
And Easy Travel System is just one of a number of new tour operators and wholesalers signing up for our direct-to-many solution.
We also recently signed with Abreu Online, one of the world’s leading online travel wholesalers, to expand its connectivity and offer its partners real-time hotel search and booking options at thousands of properties around the world.
Abreu Online is part of Grupo Viagens Abreu S.A. of Portugal, one of the world’s oldest travel agencies. Its business-to-business platform is used by more than 5,000 travel agencies and tour operators worldwide.
